2. Grammar Theory
Grammar Point 1: Comparative Adjectives (Tính từ so sánh hơn)
Use comparative adjectives to compare two people, places, or things. For short adjectives (1 syllable), add -er. For long adjectives (2+ syllables), use ‘more’ before the adjective. Always use ‘than’ after the adjective to introduce the second item.
Structure: Subject + be + Adjective-er/more Adjective + than + Object
Examples:
- The rabbit is faster than the turtle.
- This book is more interesting than the movie.
- My brother is taller than me.
Grammar Point 2: Superlative Adjectives (Tính từ so sánh nhất)
Use superlative adjectives to compare three or more things to show which one possesses the highest degree of a quality. For short adjectives, use ‘the’ and add -est. For long adjectives, use ‘the most’ before the adjective.
