Indefinite Articles: a / an
We use a or an before singular countable nouns when the noun is general, non-specific, or mentioned for the very first time.

Definite Article: the
We use the before singular, plural, or uncountable nouns when the noun is specific, has already been mentioned, or is uniquely known to both the speaker and the listener.
