Unit 26: Action Verbs Review

Can-Do Statement: I can identify and use physical and mental action verbs to describe actions and thoughts.

2. Grammar Focus: Action Verbs Classification

Action verbs are divided into two primary types based on whether the action is observable externally or happens entirely internally within the mind.

A. Physical Action Verbs

Explanation: Verbs that describe an action that can be seen, heard, or physically performed in the real world.

Structure: Subject + Physical Action Verb

Examples:

  • The puppy runs across the grass. (Hành động chạy có thể nhìn thấy)
  • She shouts to her friend at the park. (Hành động hét lớn có thể nghe thấy)
  • We build a sandcastle on the beach. (Hành động xây dựng bằng tay)

B. Mental Action Verbs

Explanation: Verbs that describe an action that happens strictly within the mind and cannot be directly observed by other people.

Structure: Subject + Mental Action Verb

Examples:
