Unit 40: Adjectives Review
Can-do Statement: I can identify adjectives and correctly use regular and irregular comparative and superlative forms to compare things.

sunny(adjective)

2. Grammar Explanations & Structures
Grammar Point 1: Adjectives and Linking Verbs
Adjectives describe nouns and can appear directly before a noun or follow a linking verb like ‘be’, ‘seem’, or ‘feel’.
Structure: Subject + Linking Verb (am/is/are/feel/seem) + Adjective
Examples:
- The spectacular zoo is very large. (Before noun / After verb)
- The sunny weather made the day beautiful. (Before noun)
- I feel happy when I play with my dog. (After linking verb ‘feel’)
Grammar Point 2: Comparative and Superlative Adjectives
Use comparative forms to compare two things and superlative forms to compare three or more. Some are irregular and change completely.
Comparative: Adjective + -er OR more + Adjective
Superlative: the + Adjective + -est OR the most + Adjective
