2. Grammar Focus

Grammar Point 1: Present Perfect Tense

Used for actions that happened at an unspecified time in the past or actions that continue to the present. The exact time is not important; the focus is on the experience or the result.

Structure: Subject + have/has + past participle (V3)

Grammar Point 2: Present Perfect with Already and Yet

Use ‘already’ for actions that happened sooner than expected (usually in affirmative sentences). Use ‘yet’ for actions you expect to happen soon (strictly in negative sentences and questions).

Structure: Subject + have/has + already + V3 / Subject + have/has + not + V3 + yet

  • We have already seen this new movie.
  • My brother has not cleaned his room yet.
  • Have you done your homework yet?
