Grammar Point: Wh-questions (Who)

We use the question word Whoto ask about people. It is used to identify a person or a group of people.

  • Who am I? (First person singular)
  • Who is he? / Who is she? (Third person singular)
  • Who are you? (Second person)
  • Who are they? / Who are we? (Plural)

Note: We typically use the verb to be (am, is, are) after ‘Who’. Example: Who is that man? He is my father.
