Unit 7: These & Those

Grammar Focus: Demonstrative Pronouns

We use These and Those to talk about plural nouns (more than one thing).

  • These (plural of This): Use for things that are near or close to you.
  • Those (plural of That): Use for things that are far away from you.

Examples:

These are apples. (The apples are in my hand or near me.)

Those are apples. (The apples are over there, far away.)
