1. Grammar: Zero and First Conditionals
Zero Conditional: Used for general truths and facts. Structure: If + Present Simple, Present Simple.
Example: If water boils, it reaches 100 degrees. Use this to describe something that is generally or always true.
First Conditional: Used for real possibilities in the future. Structure: If + Present Simple, will + Infinitive.
Example: If the weather is good, I will go to the beach. Use this to describe a situation that is likely to happen.
2. Vocabulary: Extreme Adjectives
Extreme Adjectives express a higher degree of a quality (e.g., enormous means very big). We often use themto make our language more descriptive. Note: We do not usually use “very” with extreme adjectives; we use adverbs like “absolutely” or “really.”
Examples: filthy(very dirty), starving (very hungry), tiny (very small), spectacular (very good/beautiful).
3. Grammar: Comparatives and Superlatives
Comparativescompare two things (add -er or use more). Example: older than, more beautiful than.
Superlatives compare morethan two things (add -est or use most). Example: the oldest, the most beautiful.
Irregular forms include: good → better → best; bad → worse → worst.
