The Pet Parade

A parade is a special event where people walk together and show something interesting. In this story, children bring pets in costumes. A dog looks like a bee, a puppy wears a crown, and a cat rides in a stroller. The pets feel unhappy at first, but dog treats and toys make them happy. We use the present simple tense to tell what happens: The parade starts. The puppy wears a crown. We can use adjectives to describe appearance and feelings: happy, unhappy, funny, cute. We also use plural nouns: pets, dogs, cats, toys.
