Many phrasal verbs with call are used when we talk about visits, telephone calls, asking for help, cancelling plans, and giving opinions.

The object can go after the phrasal verb or between the verb and particle.

call up = gọi điện cho ai đó.

Both actions are short visits.

Heavy rain starts in the morning.
The school decides to call off the match.
Meaning: The match is cancelled and will not happen as planned.
