In this unit, you will learn simple words to talk about your daily routines, the healthy foods you eat, and how you take care of your body every day.

Target Vocabulary

eat – to have food

drink – to have water or other liquids

sleep – to rest at night

exercise – physical activity to stay healthy

walk – to move on foot for health or travel

morning – the first part of the day

night – the time when it is dark

breakfast – the first meal of the day

lunch – the meal in the middle of the day

dinner – the main meal in the evening

water – a drink that is healthy and needed daily

fruit – natural food like apples, bananas, oranges

vegetable – healthy food like carrots, broccoli, spinach

healthy – good for your body

bad – not good for your body

Grammar: Present Simple for Routines

We use the present simple to talk about daily habits and routines.

Structure:

  • I/You/We/They + base verb (eat, drink, walk)
  • He/She/It + verb + s/es (eats, drinks, walks)

Examples:

  • I eat breakfast every morning.
  • She drinks water after exercise.

There is / There are

Use there is for singular and there are for plural to say something exists.

Examples:

  • There is a fruit on the table.
  • There are vegetables in the fridge.

Can for Ability

We use can to talk about what someone is able to do.

Examples:

  • I can walk every morning.
  • He can eat healthy food.

Example Daily Health Routines

Example 1: I wake up at 7 a.m. I eat breakfast. I drink water. I walk for 20 minutes.

Example 2: She exercises in the morning. She eats fruit and vegetables. She sleeps 8 hours at night.
