In this unit, you will learn simple words and phrases to talk about your photographs. You will practice describing the people, places, and things you see in a picture.

  • light / dark – brightness of the photo
  • happy / sad – feelings you see
  • interesting – something that makes you look

Grammar

Present Simple: This is a photo of...

Use to describe who or what is in the photo.

  • This is a photo of my friends.
  • This is a photo of the park.

There is / There are

Use to talk about objects, people, or places in a photo.

  • There is a camera on the table.
  • There are three people in the picture.

This / That

Use 'this' for something near you and 'that' for something far.

  • This is a beautiful photo.
  • That is an interesting object in the picture.
