In this unit, you will learn simple words to talk about your daily routines and your pet's everyday activities. You will practice describing morning habits, feeding times, and fun playtime together.

1. Vocabulary: Daily Activities

feed – to give food to a pet

drink – to take water or other liquid

sleep – to rest with eyes closed

walk – to move outside for exercise

play – to have fun, often with toys

exercise – to move the body to stay healthy

morning – the first part of the day

afternoon – the middle part of the day

evening – the last part of the day

day – 24 hours or the time from morning to evening

food – what we eat

water – what we drink

outside – not in the house

inside – in the house

2. Grammar: Present Simple

We use present simple to talk about daily routines and habits.

Form: Subject + base verb (+ s for he/she/it)

Examples:

  • I feed my cat every morning.
  • My dog drinks water in the afternoon.
  • He sleeps in the evening.

There is / There are

Use there is for one thing and there are for more than one.

  • There is a dog inside the house.
  • There are two cats in the garden.

Imperatives: Feed, Walk, Play

Use these to give commands or instructions.

  • Feed the cat now.
  • Walk the dog in the morning.
  • Play with your rabbit outside.

3. Example Daily Routine

Morning: I feed my cat and give her water.

Afternoon: I walk my dog outside and play with him.

Evening: The pets sleep inside the house.
