Grammar 1: Past Simple (Regular Verbs)
Use
Use the past simple to talk about something that happened in the past.
Many regular verbs add -ed.

Grammar 2: Present Continuous for Now
Use
Use the present continuous for actions happening now.
Form
Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing
- I am reading the news.
- She is writing an email.
- They are watching an event.
Now: I am reading a report.
Right now: We are talking about the news.
Grammar 3: Questions with Do / Does
Use
Use do and does to ask questions in the present.
Form
Do + I/you/we/they + base verb?
Does + he/she/it + base verb?
- Do you read the news?
- Do they hear the message?
- Does she write emails?
- Does he see the report?
Short Answers
- Yes, I do. / No, I don't.
- Yes, she does. / No, she doesn't.
Worked Examples
Example 1: Past Simple
Question: What did Tom do yesterday?
Information: Tom called his friend.
Answer: Tom called his friend yesterday.
Example 2: Present Continuous
Question: What is Anna doing now?
Information: Anna is writing an email.
Answer: Anna is writing an email now.
Example 3: Do/Does Question
Question: Does Ben read the news every day?
Answer: Yes, he does.
Complete sentence: Yes, Ben reads the news every day.
