In this unit, you will learn easy words to talk about your favorite social media apps and online ads. You will also practice sharing simple thoughts about daily internet posts with your team.

Vocabulary

social media – websites or apps for talking, sharing, and connecting online.

post – something you share online (text, photo, or video).

like – to show you enjoy a post.

share – to send a post to your friends or followers.

follow – to subscribe to someone's posts.

ad – a message to sell something.

photo – a picture.

video – moving pictures with sound.

campaign – a series of ads or posts for promotion.

content – text, photos, videos shared online.

comment – a message about a post.

view – to watch a post or video.

trend – something popular online now.

digital – connected to technology or the internet.

Grammar

1. Present Simple for habits

We use the present simple to talk about habits or repeated actions.

Structure: Subject + base verb (+ s/es for he/she/it)

Examples:

  • I post on social media every day.
  • She likes videos about trends.
  • They share photos with friends.

2. Comparatives

We use comparatives to compare two things.

Structure: adjective + -er / more + adjective

Examples:

  • This ad is bigger than that one.
  • Facebook is more popular than Twitter.

3. There is / There are for online content

We use there is and there are to talk about online content.

Examples:

  • There is a new post on Instagram.
  • There are ten comments under the video.

Worked Examples

Example 1: Present Simple

Maria posts photos online every day. (habit)

Tom likes her posts. (he does this regularly)

Example 2: Comparatives

This video is more popular than that photo. (compare popularity)

Instagram has bigger campaigns than some small blogs.

Example 3: There is / There are
