In this unit, you will learn how to introduce yourself clearly. You will also practice talking about your daily job and your company in simple English.

Here are some words to talk about work and your job:

  • job – the work you do (e.g., I have a job in sales.)
  • work – activities you do for your job (e.g., I work in an office.)
  • office – the place where you work
  • team – a group of people who work together
  • project – a set of tasks to complete
  • manager – the person in charge of a team
  • plan – something you prepare to organize work
  • meet – to see or talk to someone (in person or online)
  • day / week – units of time at work
  • task – a small piece of work
  • client – a person or company you sell or work for
  • email – a message sent by computer
  • call – to speak to someone by phone

1. Present Simple

Use to talk about regular actions or routines.

2. To Be

Use to describe yourself, your job, or a place.

  • I am a sales assistant.
  • He is the manager.

3. Have Got

Use to talk about what you have.

  • I have got a meeting this morning.
  • We have got three clients today.

Question: How can you say your name and job?

Answer: I am Anna. I work in sales at a marketing company.

Example 2: Talking about your day

Question: How can you tell someone your work tasks today?
