We use the present simple for:
Form:
I/You/We/They + verb
He/She/It + verb + s
Examples:
Sentence: He ______ English every day.
Verb: study
Answer: He studies English every day.
Why? We add -es to "study" after he/she/it.
There is = one thing
There are = two or more things
Sentence: ______ five books on the table.
Answer: There are five books on the table.
Why? Five books = more than one book.
We use a and an before one thing.
A comes before a consonant sound.
An comes before a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u).
Sentence: I have _____ answer.
Answer: I have an answer.
Why? "Answer" begins with a vowel sound.
Ví dụ 1: He studies English every day.
Vì chủ ngữ là he nên động từ ở hiện tại đơn cần thêm -s/-es. "Study" đổi thành "studies".
Ví dụ 2: There are five books on the table.
"Five books" là nhiều hơn một quyển sách nên dùng there are.
Ví dụ 3: I have an answer.
Từ "answer" bắt đầu bằng nguyên âm nên dùng an thay vì a.
