Grammar: Can for Ability

Use: talk about what someone is able to do.

Structure: subject + can + verb

Examples:

  • I can speak English.
  • She can answer simple questions in a meeting.

Like / Prefer

Use: talk about choices and preferences.

Structure: subject + like / prefer + verb-ing / noun

Examples:

  • I like listening to ideas in meetings.
  • He prefers taking notes during discussions.

Imperatives for Instructions

Use: give simple commands or instructions in meetings.

Structure: verb (base form) + object

Examples:

  • Listen carefully to the speaker.
  • Take notes about the project.
  • Report your idea to the team.
