Target Vocabulary

table – a piece of furniture with a flat top and legs, used for eating or working.

north – the direction opposite to south, on a map or compass.

slowly – moving or doing something without speed; not fast.

money – coins or notes used to buy things.

map – a picture showing places, cities, roads, and directions.

Grammar

Adverbs: Slowly

An adverb tells us more about a verb. Slowly tells us how an action happens.

Example:

  • She walks slowly. → She does not walk fast.
  • He writes slowly. → His writing is not fast.

Worked Examples

Example 1: Using Vocabulary

Sentence: I put the map on the table.

Explanation: We use table for a flat surface. The map goes on it.

Example 2: Using Direction

Sentence: The teacher is standing in the north corner of the room.

Explanation: North tells the direction.

Example 3: Using Adverb

Sentence: She walks slowly to the table.

Explanation: Slowly shows how she walks.
